The month of March has had some exciting events at Asbury Park High School.

  • This March, Mr. David Wronko was awarded Staff Member of the Month from Asbury Park High School Principal Ms. O’Neill. According to Ms. O’Neill, Mr. Wronko’s hard work and dedication to the students of the school propelled him into receiving this award.

  • This year, Mr. Wronko was involved in student fund raisers, creating assemblies for the students to talk to Veterans of Foreign Wars, and getting students to participate in extra curricular activities. Such activities included lessons presented by the League of Women Voters and Tina Watson, the daughter of Tuskegee Airman of the late great George Watson, which covered not only Black History Month but also Women’s History Month.

  • Also this March, Mr. Wronko’s student, Katherine Avila Roman, artwork was recognized by publisher Mike Fredericks and would be published in Prehistoric Times Magazine. This would be the fourth publication that Katherine Avila Roman got her work published in. Furthermore, many students were creating awesome artwork from the high school. Above, with Katherine’s artwork, was a picture done by one of the many creative artists that go to Asbury Park High School.

  • Just recently, A Better America project was brought back. This project focused on how African Americans helped reshape American Society for the better. In addition, tying into this project was the Football League of Unity. Students in Mr. Wronko’s classes were to take athletes who never played football and place them on an imaginary team. They had to describe what positions they would play and why. Furthermore, students were to design a team name and helmet that represented the word UNITY. Their name was to show an end to racism and discrimination within our country.

  • Besides A Better America project, Mr. Wronko’s students were introduced to the Wakanda Car Manufacturing project. The goal of the project was to design a vehicle that would sell more than any other which included Elon Musk’s Tesla. If their car was successful in sales and manufacturing, then the students product would be introduced to the world of Wakanda.
