About the National African American Read-In

Established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English, the National African American Read-In is an engaging way for young people, during Black History Month, to be exposed to works by Black authors.

You are invited to a spirited and cultural celebration of African drumming, with a valuable lesson to be shared with the children by author Kojo Ayinde Johnson.

The event is presented by the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Red Bank Public Library, United Methodist Church of Red Bank, and Two River Theater.
