Sayreville councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour was found shot and killed in a car outside her home on Wednesday, according to reports. She was 30.

Dwumfour was found shot multiple times in her vehicle around 7:20 p.m and pronounced dead at the scene, the prosecutor’s office said.

Officials say she crashed her SUV down the street on Samuel Circle.

The 30-year-old Republican councilwoman was elected just last year.

Information on her death

Police say they believe she was the intended target of this shooting, but do not have a clear motive.

Sayreville Police and Middlesex County officials are investigating the incident.

No arrests have been made.
