Long Branch police officer Jake Pascucci has been charged with careless driving, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated.

The charges against the 28-year-old officer stem from a Sept. 22 crash in Long Branch that killed 66-year-old Stanhope resident Karen Borkowski, who was attempting to cross the street as she was heading to a nearby CVS. She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Pascucci told officers at the scene he had a green light and that Borkowski was jaywalking, according to dashboard camera video from police at the scene.
