Museums help build confidence

Presenting at three different museums I would have to say was a very big accomplishment for the students at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.

Presenting at three different museums I would have to say was a very big accomplishment for the students at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.

Museums Help Build Confidence

Those museums were the Museum in Trenton New Jersey, Museum of Natural History in New York City, and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. Those presentations were published in multiple issues of Prehistoric Times Magazine and posted on the Unheard Voices and Jersey Voices magazine website.

When these students conducted their presentations outside their
surroundings they felt:

1. confident they could present themselves in a job interview

2. helped end their fear of public speaking

3. privileged being a fine representative of the Asbury Park School
District

4. confident that they could compete against other students from
other districts

5. overwhelmed with so much confidence that they wanted to do more
for their district

Besides presenting at three different Museums, just recently, a Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School student created a video tour ofthe Franklin Institute in Philadelphia for the students in Ghana.

By creating this video, the student claimed this not only helped with public speaking but also technology skills. Therefore, the student wanted to create even more video tours of different museums.
