A 20-year-old city man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the Saturday night shooting in Paterson that claimed the life of the promising basketball star, according to the Paterson Police Department.

Gregory A. Oliver, 20, of North 3rd Street in the 1st Ward, is charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and weapons possession in connection to Saturday’s shooting that left three others wounded, according to a press release issued by Det. Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez.

Incident

Sexton was wounded in the shooting that occurred at around 8:37 p.m. on Saturday outside a liquor store on the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue. Police rushed him to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.
