Cheyenne was fatally shot on Sunday while she was walking home with a teenage boy. The boy, also 17, survived the attack authorities said.

The shooting has marked the third homicide in New Jersey’s largest city within a 24-hour period.

Authorities have not reached a motive though they said robbery has not been ruled out.

Police are seeking the public’s help in bringing Cheyanne’s killer to justice. Authorities have set a reward at $15,000, originally set at $10,000, to help lead to the arrest for the individual or individuals responsible for her death.

Anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to call the Essex County Prosecutor’s tip line at (877) 847-7432 or the Newark Police Department tip line at (877) 695-8477.
