Parts of Seaside Heights Boardwalk has been destroyed by fire months after Hurricane Sandy.

Yesterday more than 400 firefighters fought to put out a massive fire that started at Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard stand around 2:15 PM and went on to destroy more than 80 percent of the Seaside Park boardwalk.

Although Seaside Heights was open at the start of the summer, businesses were still trying to recover.

“This summer was awful,” said John Sunderman, the owner of Big Hearted John’s clothing store. “My store was probably 65 to 70 percent. It was really bad… We just got it back up and running, now this.” told NJ.COM

The force of winds made the fire quickly spread down the Seaside Heights boardwalk making hours for the flames to finally cease.
