The forever young father’s day event was held at the Jerry Morgan Park in Long Branch to honor and celebrate fathers for Father’s day weekend. The event was organized by Director Ted Drakeford of the Adam Bucky James Community Center.

Forever Young Father’s Day Event

This year’s goal was to get fathers to come out, take part in the community, and to learn about health issues that affects them. It gave the fathers a chance to bond with their families and to play games that were available at the event.

Health information

Information was given out on sickle cell anemia which is one of the major blood disorder that affects the minority community especially African Americans. The oncology group was there to answer any questions about preventive cancer measures.

The Monmouth Family Health Center gave blood pressure screening and talked about the great services that will be available at the center. One being a newly built state of the art dental facility. Even the National Guard came out to support the Father’s Day weekend event by given out valuable information on the opportunities available within the Guard.

Music

The forever young father’s day event was topped off with fantastic music provided by Lonnie Rawls that was out of this world. You could not help but to do a dance step.

The event is the first of many that will be coming to the Long Branch community.
