An autopsy performed on two-year-old Tierra Morgan has revealed some shocking details.

Morgan, whose body was found strapped in a car seat and submerged in a stream at the Shark River Park in Wall Township, NJ, was alive when she was tossed in the water.

Authorities upgraded the charge of murder against her father Arthur Morgan III after autopsy results showed Tierra Morgan’s death was caused by “homicidal violence”.

Homicidal acts of violence

According to authorities, Morgan was last seen at the Asbury Park, NJ train station between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday and it is likely the murder occurred a couple of hours prior.

Morgan had picked up his daughter from the mother’s home in Lakehurst, NJ through a scheduled court appointed visit. An hour after he failed to return the girl, Tierra’s mother, Imani Benton, reported her daughter missing to authorities.

A group of teenagers found Tierra’s body submerged in the Shark River, where authorities say the child was “partially submerged in a stream on or near the property of Shark River Park” in Wall.

Police first issued a warrant charging Morgan with endangering the welfare of a child and interference with custody an hour before Tierra’s body was found. The charge was upgraded to murder today.

Morgan’s last known was in Eatowntown, N.J., however authorities state he was “staying sporadically with a friend in Ocean Township, NJ”.

“What we need the public to do is take a look at the photograph which has been released and to notify the police if they’ve seen him, whether it’s today, whether it was today at any point, if anybody saw him, for example on a train, let us know,” Warshaw said.

As many as 12 law enforcement agencies are involved including F.B.I. and U.S. Marshals.
