Authorities are looking for suspects who stabbed a man during a road rage incident in Brick Township.

Brick police Sgt. Larry Petrola said the incident started Wednesday night on Route 88 in Point Pleasant as both cars were headed west into Brick.

NJ.com reports:

The victim, who was driving a black Jeep Wrangler, told police that the driver of an Acura sedan was yelling at him and his family while driving aggressively.  This continued for almost a mile until the cars reached the intersection of Route 88 and Barb Lane, Petrola said.

At that point, the driver of the Acura, which had tinted windows and New York license plates, got out of his car and approached the Wrangler, Petrola said. The victim, a 39-year-old man from Toms River, got out of his car and a fight broke out between the two, he said.

Two occupants of the Acura eventually joined the fight and one of them stabbed the driver of the Jeep with what was described as a small knife, Petrola said.

The occupants of the Acura got back into their car and fled on Jack Martin Boulevard toward Route 70, Petrola said.

The victim was treated at Ocean Medical Center in Brick for cuts to his head and elbow and was later released, Petrola said.

Authorities were able to recover a short video clip which was taken by a passerby.  The video clip shows the end of the fight leading up to the suspects – two men and a woman wearing light colored shirts – running back to their car.

Those who may have seen the Acura or recognize anyone else involved are asked to contact McCarthy at 732-262-1169 or Brick police headquarters at 732-262-1100.
