Before I begin this article I just want to say that many things could be compared and why not use it for a learning experience. For instance, the Dark Knight was compared to the Empire Strikes Back. Both films were very dark in which the villains were both victorious, Darth Vader and the Empire defeated the rebels in the Empire Strikes Back and the Joker disgraced Batman’s name. In addition, now Avengers Infinity War, like the Dark Knight, was being compared to the Empire Strikes Back. Both films were dark and like Empire, Thanos, the villain in Infinity War, was victorious over the heroes.

During the filming of Classroom Close-up, to be aired on September 23, 2018 on the New Jersey Channel, Jozabad Abi-Jaja Caldwell, student from Ghana, drew this amazing picture comparing Thanos from Avengers Infinity War to General Cornwallis of the American Revolution. This picture was used for the television segment Project Ghana.

How we got to this picture being created let’s take a look. Recently Thanos, the villain from Avengers Infinity War was an unstoppable villain. Thanos was compared to Darth Vader of the Empire Strikes Back. The writers to Avengers Infinity War, the Russo Brothers, wanted Thanos to be as evil as Darth Vader was. In addition, they wanted Thanos to have an impact like Darth Vader did in the Empire Strikes Back. So at this point Thanos was compared to Darth Vader. Furthermore, besides Darth Vader, the Joker from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight could also be compared to Thanos. The Joker in the Dark Knight was an out of control individual that showed no mercy like Thanos did in the Avengers Infinity War.

Now with that being said, why not use this for education. Let’s compare anything educational to Thanos. For instance, Jozabad Abi-Jaja Caldwell drew the above picture comparing Thanos to General Cornwallis of the American Revolution. Like Thanos in the Avengers movie, General Cornwallis during the time of the American Revolution appeared to be an unbeatable individual. He won the majority of his battles in style. However, Cornwallis suffered a major defeat to Washington that led to an end of the American Revolution. The question now would be, could Thanos follow in the same footsteps?
