From Jersey with Love starts fundraiser to save Asbury Park's West Side Community Center

Asbury Park, NJ – Your coins can save the West Side Community Center and a New Jersey non profit is trying to make that happen. From Jersey with Love is a new nonprofit committed to serving the local community. This week, they have started a campaign, The Bucket List Coin Fundraiser, to collect change to help save the West Side Community Center.

The center is currently in need of much repair. The coins will be collected and sorted by denomination in buckets. The organization says the money raised will go towards offsetting the cost of repairs.

From Jersey With Love is here to help

The drive will take place on site at the center all week during the campaign. The hours of 12pm and 4pm. Donors can drop coins to the center during these hours. There will be buckets in the lobby for donors to place donations.

“Currently, the West Side Community in Asbury Park is well underserved. There aren’t many programs offered or tailored to meet the needs of the community. With limited programming and space to conduct programming, From Jersey with Love sees the need to repair the center. The repairs needed include: a new roof on the administrative building and the gymnasium, new heating and cooling systems for both buildings, new flooring in both buildings, bathroom renovations in the administrative building and new windows in both buildings. These repairs will open the opportunity to have a relevant and operating community center within the community.”

Jersey with Love’s states its commitment is to bridge the gap between the community and its resources through offering the appropriate programming and training & development opportunities to equip the community to lead better lifestyles.

Sit in

The kickoff to the campaign begun April 20, 2018 with a peaceful sit -in by the President of the organization, Mr. Curtis Moreland. There will be a memorial of hearts for the people who were murdered in the city of Asbury Park over the past decade, when the center had limited programming and usage.
