Asbury Park Middle School: Ghana Project Session 3

Asbury Park Middle School students were able to chat via a video conference not only with the students from Ghana but also Eric Jones, Darryl Bahs, Twia Goss, and Viviene Barr.

On October 23, 2015 Asbury Park Middle School students were able to chat via a video conference not only with the students from Ghana but also Eric Jones, Darryl Bahs, Twia Goss, and Viviene Barr. This was the first ever quad conference displayed on the white board in Mr.Wronko’s classroom. The third session began with Walter Duarte, APMS student, performing a couple of magic tricks for the student audience
in Ghana as well as Eric Jones, Darryl Bahs, Twia Goss, and Viviene Barr. His tricks consisted of making a poker card and pencil disappear. In addition, after Walter’s short magic show, Jackie Duarte, APMS student, informed the same audience that she was conducting research on James Cartier and wanted to discover why this individual was a great European Explorer. From there the session took an interesting turn when the teacher from Ghana gave the students from APMS a virtual tour of the school in Ghana. He wanted APMS students to get involved with helping the school in Ghana raise school supplies for its students. A quad discussion took place and many ideas were brought to the table on how to raise supplies for the students in Ghana. Some ideas dealt with a donation box and a bake sale. More ideas would be discussed in future sessions. The third session ended with the students singing a song from Ghana and cheerleaders from APMS performing a special cheer.
