The T. Thomas Fortune House Project Presents “The People Speak: the Words of T. Thomas Fortune”

The T. Thomas Fortune Project is a group of concerned citizens who have come together to save the Home of T. Thomas Fortune, a National Historic Landmark.

The T. Thomas Fortune Project is a group of concerned citizens who have come together to save the Home of T. Thomas Fortune, a National Historic Landmark in Red Bank, New Jersey.

Their plan is to acquire the property, then stabilize and secure the house so that it can be restored and developed into a cultural center for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.

Presented as part of Black History Month and the African-American Read In, members of the committee, will read from the books, speeches, and poetry of T. Thomas Fortune, born on October 3, 1856 in Jackson County, Florida. Mr. Fortune was an African-American, editor, publisher, poet, author and early civil rights activist who lived in Red Bank, NJ from 1901-1908.

It will be presented in both public and private settings. Our Presentations will be

Students will be holding a Jean Day Fundraiser
To Benefit the T. Thomas Fortune Rally
