Abdul Frazier, the third teenage victim in the Christmas day shooting in Newark, has died, family and authorities said.

Abdul Frazier succumbs to injuries

Frazier, 14, known to family and friends as “Scooter”, was one of the three teenagers shot on Schley Street in Newark. He succumbed to his injuries after spending nearly three weeks at University Hospital. He died Friday morning.

Other victims

The first two victims of the shooting, 13-year-old Zainee Hailey and 15-year-old Kasson Morman, died shortly after the attack. But Frazier survived with a critical wound to his neck, family members have said – and was listed in critical condition at University Hospital since Dec. 25.

Suspect arrested for Abdul Frazier, Hailey, and Morman

A 15-year-old was arrested in connection to the shooting and charged with two counts of murder, attempted murder, and other charges. The alleged killer felt “disrespected” after one of the boys apparently “hit on” the shooter’s girlfriend, law enforcement sources have said.

The attempted murder charges are expected to be upgraded to murder after the passing of Abdul Frazier.
