For a month and a half, everyday was a constant grind for Sanderson as he engaged in weight lifting, skill specific drills and conditioning. From sunrise to sunset that combined training with muscle recovery techniques.

At the end of March, the Long Branch native earned a chance to show his skills to the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL).

When tryouts were over and as he was soaking wet from a downpour, which drenched the whole team, the Calgary Stampeders invited him to come to their Mini-Camp which was held in mid May. So, he was back on the grind for another six weeks with his training.

When May came around, Sanderson was more than prepared to continue to show the coaches that he deserved to be a part of their team. He then attended the Calgary Stampeders three day Mini-Camp in Tampa Bay, Florida.

After three days of intense training and learning plays he was offered his first (CFL) contract to be a part of the Calgary Stampeders football team and to attend their training camp.

May 31, Sanderson was on his way to Calgary, Alberta for training camp, and after 3 weeks of practicing and meetings, Jerrett had his first pre-season game.

After an exciting and fun night of playing a new style of football,  he had 4 tackles and 1 pass break up.

Youth Football Camp

Sanderson has returned to Long Branch and is now preparing to host his first youth football camp, called Jersey Quest Ultimate Skills Football Camp, on July 24-25. As football is Sanderson’s passion, he is honored to have the opportunity to give back to his community and to pour into the next generation of athletes.

Jerett Sanderson will be an Unheard Voices guest this Thursday July 18th  at 7:00 pm EST at the Adam Bucky James Community Center to talk about his up and coming youth football camp and his football career.

Please do not miss out on this opportunity to come to meet and to learn more about Mr. Jerett Sanderson and  how your child can sign up and be a part of the Jersey Quest Ultimate Skills Football Camp.
