This declaration meant that the American Colonists were free from Great Britain during the time of the American Revolution. The idea of freedom was born. Today we live in a country in which we could follow our dreams and become whatever we want. We could achieve our goals and live life however we see fit. For instance, if I want to play video games all night I could and not be told what to do. However, during this time many forget why we have this freedom. We have this freedom because of our brave men and women in the army. These people serve when we do not.

Let’s us not forget these men and women. They stood up and fought in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now engaged in a new conflict against a new terrorist organization Isis. These men and women only see their family when their tour of duty was completed. Some men and women in the army did not see their families for years because these conflicts were bad. So for this Fourth of July, let’s take time and pray for a safe return for those serving overseas in the armed forces.
