Every Friday, Asbury Park Middle School’s (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School) students holds sessions with students in Ghana about lessons in American and Ghana Culture. The partnership happened several years ago, as history teacher David Wronko facilitates the presentations by Asbury Park Middle School students.

A group of about 10 eager students from Ghana listened in to a history on American Music and popular artists in Ghana from presentations by Kayla Byrd. After those presentations, middle school student Kavon Peterson made a science experimentation on how to make a homemade lava lamp with the help of his science teacher Mr. Mason.

Last, Unheard Voices Founder, Keith Covin, and his daughter, Chenelle Covin – who was the CEO/Editor-in-Chief- talked to the students in West Africa about Unheard Voices Magazine and the importance of black media. The students were excited to learn about a media outlet for the people by the people, asking many enthusiastic questions to learn about our expanding media company.

Check out some highlights below. Thank you for Mr. David Wronko for the opportunity!
