In the 30-part documentary-interview series, The Lost Sound of New Jersey Hip Hop, New Jersey video production company, BLACK LIGHT FILMS, captures the thoughts and talents of New Jersey Hip-Hop. For each day in November, New Jersey artists(famous and unsigned) as well as DJs are interviewed and as they voice their opinion on the state of New Jersey Hip-Hop. Featured participants include: Lords of the Underground member DoItAllDu, Hip-Hop Trio Benatton, female artist Rosie Red, and DJ Young Fresh, to name a few. With the immense and great talent that comes from the beloved “Dirty Jersey”, why it is that New Jersey is hardly heard of, considered, and remembered? In common conversation when New Jersey artists are being discussed it is often somewhat of a difficult thought to think of the great artists of New Jersey. Is it that Jersey does not often put out as many artist as other states? Does New Jersey get consumed by the New York music scene due to locality? What will it take for Jersey artists to get the respect they deserve and make their permanent mark on Hip-Hop? Check out the footage below and be sure to visit daily for additional and updated video from new artists.
